Geographical Terms :
Adam's Bridge: A bridge of sand an rock between India and Sri Lanka (N.D.A. 1983).
Polar regions : Thee are the regions of the word near the poles and they are characterised by inefficient warmth.
Monsoons :These are Periodical winds, blowing from sea to land for six months in summer and from land to sea for other six months in winter.
Glacier: A maa of ice which moves like a river in the Apls, Himalayas, Arctic and Antarctic regions.
Steppes: In the temperate zones,the rainfall is not very high.Ther are extensive area oif grass,land, e.g., the glassland or Prairies of Canada and U.S.A the Pampas of Argentina, etc. They are called stepes..
International Date-Line: It is an irregular imaginar line near the 180th meridian .
Soloar-System: The solar-system comprises the sun and the various bodies which are associate with it. The planets and their satellites, the asteroids, comets, meteorites etc.
Geysers:These are Volcanic fountains which from time to (often at regular intervals) under the expansions of steam, eject columns of steam and hot water.
The Golf-Steam:It is a warm ocean current that originates in the Gulf of Mexico and flows norht along the eastern coast of the United States.
Thunder: Sudden expension of the air when heated by the flash of lighting stars a strong compressions wave through the air.This, a sound wave ,is heard as thunder.
Earthquakes:The earth's crust generally breaks,heaves settles and bends,Earthquaks occur in regions whrer these changes are taking place mostly.
Climate: An aggregate of the climate elements i.e.temperature,precipitation.humidity.rainfall,moisture,winds etc.of particular place for a long time.It changes frequently.
Doldrums: It is a zone of tropics where calm lasting for some weeks prevails,broken at times by violent winds and storms.The region lies within 5 North and 5 South Equator.
Arctics:It is that part of the earth which surrounds the North.
Cope Trafalgar:The place in Spain where battle of Trafalgar was fought in which Napoleon was wounded and his sea power was harmed.
Euator:It is the imaginary circle of the earht.Its every point is 90 degree from the earth's poles dividing the norhtern form the southern hemisphere.It is from the equator the latitudes of places norht and south are counted.
Tornades: These are violent and tempestuous whirlwinds making a black funnel-shaped cloud.
